Confusing details, like the lines on the back of this character, are clarified for the painters; and colored ink lines are indicated in colored pencil. Sometimes, the lead assistant will select a representative drawing from each scene and do a single sample cleanup drawing to show other Assistants how the scene should be cleaned up.
